2024-04-18ARM: dts: renesas: Switch to using upstream DTMarek Vasut1-1/+1
Enable OF_UPSTREAM to use upstream DT and add renesas/ prefix to the DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE and OF_LIST. And thereby directly build DTB from dts/upstream/src/ including *-u-boot.dtsi files from arch/$(ARCH)/dts/ directory. The configuration update has been done using the following script: ``` sed -i '/^CONFIG_DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE/ s@="@&renesas/@' `git grep -li renesas configs` sed -i '/^CONFIG_OF_LIST/ s@r8a@renesas/&@g' `git grep -li renesas configs` ``` The RZN1 Snarc board does not seem to have a matching Linux kernel DT counterpart, this is currently not switched to OF upstream. 2024-04-18ARM: dts: renesas: Stop using the -u-boot DTs for buildMarek Vasut1-1/+1
The U-Boot build system can automatically paste -u-boot.dtsi at the end of matching .dts during build. Stop emulating this behavior and rename the -u-boot.dts files to -u-boot.dtsi, drop "#include...dts" from those new u-boot.dtsi files, and update board configuration accordingly. The rename, '#include...dts` scrubbing and configuration update has been done using the following script: ``` $ find . -name r[78]\*-u-boot.dts | sort -u | while read line ; do \ git mv ${line%-u-boot.dts}-u-boot.dts ${line%-u-boot.dts}-u-boot.dtsi ; \ done $ sed -i '/^#include.*dts"/ d' `find . -name r[78]\*-u-boot.dtsi` $ sed -i 's@-u-boot@@g' `git grep -li renesas configs` ``` The Salvator-X and ULCB board files have been updated manually. 2024-02-17ARM: renesas: Disable EFI on R-Car Gen2Marek Vasut1-0/+2
These systems are unlikely to use EFI as this functionality has not been enabled until it got pulled in by Kconfig default. This functionality does add some 60-70 kiB to the u-boot.img size, which overflows the size limit. Disable it. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN To do this, we set a default of 0 for everyone because there are a number of cases where we define CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN but the only impact is that we set TOTAL_MALLOC_LEN to be CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_LEN + CONFIG_ENV_SIZE, so we must continue to allow all boards to set this value. Update the SPL code to use 200 KB as the default raw U-Boot size directly, if we don't have a real CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN value. - Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR - Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation. - On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them. - On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation. - CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most board config header files. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2019-05-14net: phy: micrel: Allow KSZ8xxx and KSZ90x1 to be used togetherJames Byrne1-0/+1
Commit d397f7c45b0b ("net: phy: micrel: Separate KSZ9000 drivers from KSZ8000 drivers") separated the KSZ8xxx and KSZ90x1 drivers and warns that you shouldn't select both of them due to a device ID clash between the KSZ9021 and the KS8721, asserting that "it is highly unlikely for a system to contain both a KSZ8000 and a KSZ9000 PHY". Unfortunately boards like the SAMA5D3xEK do contain both types of PHY, but fortunately the Linux Micrel PHY driver provides a solution by using different PHY ID and mask values to distinguish these chips. This commit contains the following changes: - The PHY ID and mask values for the KSZ9021 and the KS8721 now match those used by the Linux driver. - The warnings about not enabling both drivers have been removed. - The description for PHY_MICREL_KSZ8XXX has been corrected (these are 10/100 PHYs, not GbE PHYs). - PHY_MICREL_KSZ9021 and PHY_MICREL_KSZ9031 no longer select PHY_GIGE since this is selected by PHY_MICREL_KSZ90X1. - All of the relevant defconfig files have been updated now that PHY_MICREL_KSZ8XXX does not default to 'Y'.
