2011-03-25m68k: merge m68k and m68knommu arch directoriesGreg Ungerer1-126/+0
There is a lot of common code that could be shared between the m68k and m68knommu arch branches. It makes sense to merge the two branches into a single directory structure so that we can more easily share that common code. This is a brute force merge, based on a script from Stephen King <sfking@fdwdc.com>, which was originally written by Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>. > The script was inspired by the script Sam Ravnborg used to merge the > includes from m68knommu. Other than a handful of options being moved it produces identical .config outputs on m68k and m68knommu targets I tested it on. 2011-01-05m68knommu: make Coldfire 548x support more genericGreg Ungerer1-3/+3
The ColdFire 547x family of processors is very similar to the ColdFire 548x series. Almost all of the support for them is the same. Make the code supporting the 548x more gneric, so it will be capable of supporting both families. 2010-10-21m68knommu: add basic mmu-less m548x supportPhilippe De Muyter1-0/+3
Add a very basic mmu-less support for coldfire m548x family. This is perhaps also valid for m547x family. The port comprises the serial, tick timer and reboot support. The gpio part compiles but is empty. This gives a functional albeit limited linux for the m548x coldfire family. This has been tested on a Freescale M548xEVB Lite board with a M5484 processor and the default dbug monitor. 2008-07-23m68knommu: add ffs and __ffs plattform which support ISA A+ or ISA CSebastian Siewior1-4/+7
the ff1 and bitrev opcode appears in ISA C and ISA A+ what isn't supported by all plattforms. The assembly optimization is automaticly enabled if the compiler understand the required cpu keyword. 2008-02-01m68knommu: modify Makefiles to support common coldfire directoryGreg Ungerer1-11/+11
Modify Makefiles to support separate coldfire platform directory. Currently the common ColdFire CPU family code sits in the arch/m68knommu/platform/5307 directory. This is confusing, the files containing this common code are in no way specific to the 5307 ColdFire. Create an arch/m68knommu/platform/coldfire directory to contain this common code. Other m68knommu CPU varients do not need use this code though, so it doesn't make sense to move it to arch/m68knommu/kernel. One usecase is when trying to find gcc bugs but other use cases has been requested too. Patch was tested on following architectures: alpha, arm, i386, x86_64, mips, sparc, sparc64, ia64, m68k Test was simple to do a defconfig build, apply the patch and check that nothing got rebuild. Here is a small patch that made my kernel .text segment shrink by 8k IIRC on my 5272-based board, by removing `-Wa,-S' from CFLAGS. The `-Wa,-S' option prevents `gas' from using short forms of jsr. Without it, `gas' replaces `jsr xxx.l' (6 bytes) by `jsr xxx@pc' (4 bytes) when possible. On 5272, both forms are equally fast. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
