This patch adds helper functions to configure clock parents and rates
as specified through 'assigned-clock-parents', 'assigned-clock-rates'
DT properties for a clock provider or clock consumer device.
The helpers are now being called by the bus code for the platform, I2C
and SPI busses, before the driver probing and also in the clock core
after registration of a clock provider.

Calling kthread_run with a single name parameter causes it to be handled
as a format string. Many callers are passing potentially dynamic string
content, so use "%s" in those cases to avoid any potential accidents.

So far physical address (used to set dma transfer) was obtained
from mapping virtual address of the client buffer address passed
in SPI message. Deprecated code uses dma_map_single() and
dma_unmap_single().
Now mapping of virtual address has been replaced by data
transfer from client buffer to contiguous regions allocated by
dma_alloc_coherent(). Physical address of dma buffers is used
to set dma transfer.
This makes functions: s3c64xx_spi_map_mssg(), s3c64xx_spi_unmap()
redundant hence they are removed.

The spi-s3c64xx currently doesn't support transfers from non-contiguous
client buffers.
This patch adds two coherent buffers which allow transfers from
non-contiguous client buffers without extra coherent memory allocation
in the client driver.
Buffer size is hardcoded to 16kB for Tx/Rx. Client drivers shouldn't
exceed that value.

This patch removes dma channel initialization and deinitialization for each
transfer. Now dma channel is requested only for the first spi transfer
and stored in driver data.
This solution optimizes execution time of the send_message loop because
driver doesn't request dma channel for each transfer anymore. It uses already
requested dma channel from s3c64xx_spi_dma_data struct.

commit 97ca0d6cc118716840ea443e010cb3d5f2d25eaf upstream.

(spi: omap2-mcspi: Do not configure the controller
on each transfer unless needed) does its job too
well so omap2_mcspi_setup_transfer() isn't called
even when an SPI slave driver changes 'spi->mode'.
The result is that the mode requested by the SPI
slave driver never takes effect.
Fix this by adding the 'mode' member to the
omap2_mcspi_cs structure which holds the mode
value that the hardware is configured for.
When the SPI slave driver changes 'spi->mode'
it will be different than the value of this new
member and the SPI master driver will know that
the hardware must be reconfigured (by calling
omap2_mcspi_setup_transfer()).

commit e06871cd2c92e5c65d7ca1d32866b4ca5dd4ac30 upstream.
In commit f814f9ac5a81 ("spi/orion: add device tree binding"), Device
Tree support was added to the spi-orion driver. However, this commit
reads the "cell-index" property, without taking into account the fact
that DT properties are big-endian encoded.
Since most of the platforms using spi-orion with DT have apparently
not used anything but cell-index = <0>, the problem was not
visible. But as soon as one starts using cell-index = <1>, the problem
becomes clearly visible, as the master->bus_num gets a wrong value
(actually it gets the value 0, which conflicts with the first bus that
has cell-index = <0>).
This commit fixes that by using of_property_read_u32() to read the
property value, which does the appropriate endianness conversion when
needed.

commit 61d1cf163c8653934cc8cd5d0b2a562d0990c265 upstream.
The 'ath79_spi_setup_cs' function initializes the chip
select line of a given SPI device in order to make sure
that the device is inactive.
If the SPI_CS_HIGH bit is set for a given device, it
means that the CS line of that device is active HIGH
so it must be set to LOW initially. In case of GPIO
CS lines, the 'ath79_spi_setup_cs' function does the
opposite of that due to the wrong GPIO flags.
Fix the code to use the correct GPIO flags.

commit 1f802f8249a0da536877842c43c7204064c4de8b upstream.
This reverts commit e120cc0dcf2880a4c5c0a6cb27b655600a1cfa1d.
It causes a NULL pointer dereference with drivers using the generic
spi_transfer_one_message(), which always calls
spi_finalize_current_message(), which zeroes master->cur_msg.
Drivers implementing transfer_one_message() theirselves must always call
spi_finalize_current_message(), even if the transfer failed:
* @transfer_one_message: the subsystem calls the driver to transfer a single
* message while queuing transfers that arrive in the meantime. When the
* driver is finished with this message, it must call
* spi_finalize_current_message() so the subsystem can issue the next
* transfer

commit e120cc0dcf2880a4c5c0a6cb27b655600a1cfa1d upstream.
This corrects a problem in spi_pump_messages() that leads to an spi
message hanging forever when a call to transfer_one_message() fails.
This failure occurs in my MCP2210 driver when the cs_change bit is set
on the last transfer in a message, an operation which the hardware does
not support.
Rationale
Since the transfer_one_message() returns an int, we must presume that it
may fail. If transfer_one_message() should never fail, it should return
void. Thus, calls to transfer_one_message() should properly manage a
failure.

If the device is already in a runtime PM enabled state
pm_runtime_get_sync() will return 1, so a test for negative
value should be used to check for errors.
Without this patch there are seen errors like:

The ISR currently consumes the rx buffer data and re-enables transmission
from within interrupt context. This is bad because if the interrupt
occurs again before the ISR exits, the new interrupt will be erroneously
cleared by the still completing ISR.
Simplified the ISR by just setting the completion variable and exiting with
no action. Then just looped the transmit functionality in
xilinx_spi_txrx_bufs().

Pull devm usage cleanup from Wolfram Sang:
"Lately, I have been experimenting how to improve the devm interface to
make writing device drivers easier and less error prone while also
getting rid of its subtle issues. I think it has more potential but
still needs work and definately conistency, especiall in its usage.
The first thing I come up with is a low hanging fruit regarding
devm_ioremap_resouce(). This function already checks if the passed
resource is valid and gives an error message if not. So, we can
remove similar checks from the drivers and get rid of a bit of code
and a number of inconsistent error strings.
This series only removes the unneeded check iff devm_ioremap_resource
follows platform_get_resource directly. The previous version tried to
shuffle code if needed, too, what lead to an embarrasing bug. It
turned out to me that shuffling code for all cases found will make the
automated script too complex, so I am unsure if an automated cleanup
is the proper tool for this case. Removing the easy stuff seems
worthwhile to me, though.
Despite various architectures and platform dependencies, I managed to
compile test 45 out of 57 modified files locally using heuristics and
defconfigs."

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc
Pull ARM SoC late cleanups from Arnd Bergmann:
"These are cleanups and smaller changes that either depend on earlier
feature branches or came in late during the development cycle. We
normally try to get all cleanups early, so these are the exceptions:
- A follow-up on the clocksource reworks, hopefully the last time we
need to merge clocksource subsystem changes through arm-soc.
A first set of patches was part of the original 3.10 arm-soc
cleanup series because of interdependencies with timer drivers now
moved out of arch/arm.
- Migrating the SPEAr13xx platform away from using auxdata for DMA
channel descriptions towards using information in device tree,
based on the earlier SPEAr multiplatform series
- A few follow-ups on the Atmel SAMA5 support and other changes for
Atmel at91 based on the larger at91 reworks.
- Moving the armada irqchip implementation to drivers/irqchip
- Several OMAP cleanups following up on the larger series already
merged in 3.10."

Add dmaengine support.
Using "has_dma_support" member of struct is used to select
the transfer mode: dmaengine or pdc.
For the dmaengine transfer mode, it supports both 8 bits and 16 bits transfer.
For the dmaengine transfer mode, if it fails to config dmaengine,
or if the message length is less than 16 bytes, it will use the PIO transfer mode.

This is a series originally prepared for inclusion in 3.9, which did
not work out because of dependencies on the dmaengine driver. All the
changes for the dmaengine code are merged in 3.9 now, so we can finally
do the switchover and remove the now unnecessary dma definitions for
spear13xx from the platform code.
The dma platform_data actually made up the majority of the spear13xx
platform code overall, so moving that into device tree files makes the
code substantially smaller.

The multiplatform conversion in commit 788437 (spi: s3c64xx: move to
generic dmaengine API) tested for the use of the Samsung-specific DMA
API with SAMSUNG_DMADEV when in fact S3C_DMA should be used. This
renderd DMA based transfers non-functional on platforms not using
dmaengine.
