After the change from mdio polling to irq, it became necessary to
restore the interrupt mask after resetting the chip in fec_stop().
Otherwise, with all irqs disabled, no communication with the PHY will be
possible after e.g. un-/replugging the cable and the device gets
stalled.

The phy_mii_ioctl() function unnecessarily throws away the original ifreq.
We need access to the ifreq in order to support PHYs that can perform
hardware time stamping.
Two maverick drivers filter the ioctl commands passed to phy_mii_ioctl().
This is unnecessary since phylib will check the command in any case.

With the move to phylib (commit e6b043d) I was seeing sporadic "MDIO write
timeout" messages. Measure of the actual time spent showed latency times of
more than 1600us.
This patch uses the MII event indication of the FEC hardware to detect
completion of MDIO transactions.

Commit 59d4289b83b11379d867e2f7146904b19cc96404 converted fec to dev_pm_ops but
didn't update the suspend/resume functions thus leading to the following warning :
"initialization from incompatible pointer type" when CONFIG_PM is set.
This patch also fixe a few indentation and style around CONFIG_PM area.

* in the actual driver, calling fec_stop and fec_enet_init doesn't
allow to have a working network interface at resume (where a
ifconfig down and up is required to recover the interface)
* by using fec_enet_close and fec_enet_open, this patch solves this
problem and handle the case where the link changed between suspend
and resume
* this patch also disable clock at suspend and reenable it at resume

In fec open/close function, we need to use phy_connect and phy_disconnect
operation before we start/stop phy. Otherwise it will cause system hang.
Only call fec_enet_mii_probe() in open function, because the first open
action will cause NULL pointer error.

Now that core network takes care of trans_start updates, dont do it
in drivers themselves, if possible. Drivers can avoid one cache miss
(on dev->trans_start) in their start_xmit() handler.
Exceptions are NETIF_F_LLTX drivers

Converts the list and the core manipulating with it to be the same as uc_list.
+uses two functions for adding/removing mc address (normal and "global"
variant) instead of a function parameter.
+removes dev_mcast.c completely.
+exposes netdev_hw_addr_list_* macros along with __hw_addr_* functions for
manipulation with lists on a sandbox (used in bonding and 80211 drivers)

The fec driver was enabling receive buffer descriptor without allocating
the buffers. Make sure the buffer descriptors are initialized to not
start receiving packets.
Open also calls fec_restart after the rx buffers are allocated. With the code
in fec_restart, it zeroes out the buffer descriptors that have just been
setup.

fec_enet_mii, fec_enet_rx and fec_enet_tx are both only called by
fec_enet_interrupt in interrupt context. So they must not use
spin_lock_irq/spin_unlock_irq.

mii_discover_phy is only called by fec_enet_mii (via mip->mii_func). So
&fep->mii_lock is already held and mii_discover_phy must not call
mii_queue which locks &fep->mii_lock, too.

Commit f0b3fbeae11a526c3d308b691684589ee37c359b ("FEC Buffer rework")
breaks transmission of packets where the skb data buffer is not memory
aligned according to FEC_ALIGNMENT. It incorrectly passes to
dma_sync_single() the buffer address directly from the skb, instead of
the address calculated for use (which may be the skb address or one of
the bounce buffers).
It seems there is no use converting the cpu address of the buffer to
a physical either, since dma_map_single() expects the cpu address and
will return the dma address to use in the descriptor. So remove the use
of __pa() on the buffer address as well.
This patch is against 2.6.30-rc5. This breakage is a regression over
2.6.30, which does not have this problem.

This patch is the result of an automatic spatch transformation to convert
all ndo_start_xmit() return values of 0 to NETDEV_TX_OK.
Some occurences are missed by the automatic conversion, those will be
handled in a seperate patch.

Convert magic values 1 and -1 to NETDEV_TX_BUSY and NETDEV_TX_LOCKED respectively.
0 (NETDEV_TX_OK) is not changed to keep the noise down, except in very few cases
where its in direct proximity to one of the other values.

fec_enet_init() does the hardware initialisation and then calls
fec_restart() which does the same initialisation again, so we
can safely remove the initialisation from fec_enet_init().

This turns the fec driver into a platform device driver for new
platforms. Old platforms are still supported through a FEC_LEGACY define
till they are also ported.

flush_dcache_range is not portable across architectures. Use
dma_sync_single instead. Also, the memory must be synchronised in the
receive path aswell.
