2012-01-05ARM: restart: remove the now empty arch_reset()Russell King1-2/+0
Remove the now empty arch_reset() from all the mach/system.h includes, and remove its callsite. Remove arm_machine_restart() as this function no longer does anything useful. For samsung platforms, remove the include of mach/system-reset.h and plat/system-reset.h from their respective mach/system.h headers as these just define their arch_reset functions. As a result, the s3c2410 and plat-samsung system-reset.h files are no longer referenced, so remove these files entirely. 2012-01-03ARM: 7257/1: EXYNOS: introduce arch/arm/mach-exynos/common.[ch]Kukjin Kim17-730/+793
This patch introduces common.[ch] which are used only in the arch/arm/mach-exynos/ directory. The common.c file merges the cpu.c, init.c, irq-combiner.c and irq-eint.c files which are used commonly on EXYNOS SoCs and the common.h file replaces with plat/exynos4.h file. 2011-12-19ARM: SMP: Refactor Kconfig to be more maintainableDave Martin1-0/+1
Making SMP depend on (huge list of MACH_ and ARCH_ configs) is bothersome to maintain and likely to lead to merge conflicts. This patch moves the knowledge of which platforms are SMP-capable to the individual machines. To enable this, a new HAVE_SMP config option is introduced to allow machines to indicate that they can run in a SMP configuration. 2011-12-19ARM: l2x0/pl310: Refactor Kconfig to be more maintainableDave Martin1-0/+1
Making CACHE_L2X0 depend on (huge list of MACH_ and ARCH_ configs) is bothersome to maintain and likely to lead to merge conflicts. This patch moves the knowledge of which platforms have a L2x0 or PL310 cache controller to the individual machines. To enable this, a new MIGHT_HAVE_CACHE_L2X0 config option is introduced to allow machines to indicate that they may have such a cache controller independently of each other. Boards/SoCs which cannot reliably operate without the L2 cache controller support will need to select CACHE_L2X0 directly from their own Kconfigs instead. This applies to some TrustZone-enabled boards where Linux runs in the Normal World, for example. 2011-11-15ARM: gic: allow GIC to support non-banked setupsMarc Zyngier2-42/+2
The GIC support code is heavily using the fact that hardware implementations are exposing banked registers. Unfortunately, it looks like at least one GIC implementation (EXYNOS) offers both the distributor and the CPU interfaces at different addresses, depending on the CPU. This problem is solved by allowing the distributor and CPU interface addresses to be per-cpu variables for the platforms that require it. The EXYNOS code is updated not to mess with the GIC internals while handling interrupts, and struct gic_chip_data is back to being private. The DT binding for the gic is updated to allow an optional "cpu-offset" value, which is used to compute the various base addresses. Finally, a new config option (GIC_NON_BANKED) is used to control this feature, so the overhead is only present on kernels compiled with support for EXYNOS. Tested on Origen (EXYNOS4) and Panda (OMAP4). 2011-11-06ARM: EXYNOS: Add ARCH_EXYNOS and reorganize arch/arm/mach-exynosKukjin Kim70-0/+12158
The arch/arm/mach-exynos4 directory (CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS4) has made for plaforms based on EXYNOS4 SoCs. But since upcoming Samsung's SoCs such as EXYNOS5 (ARM Cortex A15) can reuse most codes in current mach-exynos4, one mach-exynos directory will be used for them. This patch changes to CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS (arch/arm/mach-exynos) but keeps original CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS4 in mach-exynos/Kconfig to avoid changing in driver side.
